Florida record keeping

You've heard they're bad, but let me tell you firsthand just how bad they are.

I just got a renewal form in the mail for a Florida driver's license (or rather, my parents did). Apparently, they think that the Florida driver's license I tore up 9 years ago in 1995 is still valid! From '95 till '03 I had a Georgia license, and from '03 till now I've had a California license. I remember them also mailing me forms from the voter registration office a few years ago, thinking I was still registered to vote there. That was less of a mistake, because I did do the whole absentee ballot thing for a long time. But still, I had to call them and tell them I was already registered to vote in another state before they finally took me off their rosters. (I only took the time to do this because I was worried my school would find out about their mistake and claim I had to pay non-resident tuition--and, because being registered to vote in two states is probably a felony or something.) This driver's license booboo just puts the icing on the cake. What a bunch of ass-clowns!

They have trouble with simple counting (at least a few counties); don't expect much out of Floridians. Floridish. Whatever.

Bradenton, about an hour south of Tampa. I think we've talked about this before!
