Out with the old, in with the new

First, via moonaysl:

Four jobs you’ve had in your life:
Cashier at Winn Dixie supermarkets, RAID software engineer at AMI (internship), Senior Resident Technology Advisor at Georgia Tech, Human Electron Relations Coordinator at Togetherweb
Four movies you could watch over and over:
Pulp Fiction, Natural Born Killers, Freeway, Labyrinth
Four places you’ve lived:
Cranford, New Jersey; Bradenton, Florida; Atlanta, Georgia; Los Angeles, California
Four TV shows you love to watch:
Roswell, Buffy, Babylon V, Sliders (okay, none of these are still on the air--that's sad. The only thing I can think of that's currently on the air and is somewhat decent is "My Name is Earl", but I'd hardly say I "love to watch it")
Four places you’ve been on vacation:
New Zealand, Austria, Brazil, Jamaica
Four websites you visit daily:
livejournal is the only website I visit every day (if I'm around a computer), unless I include google. slashdot I technically visit every day since it's my homepage, but I only bother to read the headlines about 3 or 4 times a week.
Four of your favorite foods:
pizza, thai curry, spaghetti, hot dogs (yeah... I admit it, I'm pretty lame when it comes to food)
Four places you’d rather be:
Right now? Nowhere. 4 places I'd like to be at some point in the future? working at the Institute for Advanced Study, attending Burning Man again, living in LA again, visiting London or Paris
Four albums you can’t live without:
I think I could live without any particular album, especially the ones that I've memorized enough that they play in my head all the time, but nevertheless... Mortal Kombat soundtrack, Natural Born Killers soundtrack, Lords of Acid's Voodoo You, and Kid Rock's Devil Without a Cause are the ones which have influenced my life the most so I'd be the saddest to lose.

and while I'm at it, He Wantz It from http://www.gangstafag.com/ (the first openly gay gangster rapper) is mighty entertaining.

Happy 2006, everyone! I had a fun night last night. My two new years resolutions this year:

1. stop putting off getting a tattoo and go out and do it (well, as soon as I finish the design)
2. make sure I get more research done in each of the next two quarters than I did last quarter.

1999 and 2005 have stood way out as the two most life-changing years for me so far. I can scarcely believe all that's happened in the past year, I feel that I've grown a lot as a person both in terms of career (was doubtful before, but I now have a lot more self-confidence there and... despite having a long way to go, I actually believe it might work out for me) and social life and personal identity. I have no reason to expect 2006 to live up to the incredibly high standards 2005 has set, but I'm nevertheless headed into it optimistically and as long as I don't backslide--I will be more than happy with the outcome.

Oh, that shouldn't be a tough one. :)

heh... I figure if I set my standards low, then I'll be pleased when I actually get my resolutions done for once :)

Dammit Jeff, you weren't even on my first page! The Livejournal tides have turned!

The scoop: we on for Friday? June's in. I'm in. Anna? Perhaps I ask Vidya tomorrow if she can. I'll buy your gas as incentive, as I'd like you to bring me to the airport afterward/during/whatever. Maybe I'll even give you some rum! Which could be an event, drink lots of rum and watch Pirates, so I know how to act in the Caymans heh.
