new quarter

I've been to each new class once now. TAing doesn't start till next week. My Thursday schedule looks pretty frightening. Solid classes/engagements every Thurs from 8am-8pm aside from a 2-hour break for lunch. I petitioned to have one of my TA sections changed to Mon/Wed, but I'm not sure how likely they are to change it at this point. I pretty much just lost the bargaining process when it came to picking sections.

One of my prof's said today:
"I would give you an in class test if I could, but the problem is... there's nothing at this level I could ask you to do within two hours that isn't entirely trivial." -H.H. Ahha. So that's why there are so many take-homes in grad school!

Played Cranium tonight with a few friends. Definitely in a good mood, it's great to be back in school again... was reading plenty over the break, but I still get bored easily and was more than ready to go back.

One of the rude awakenings of grad classes for me was the abundance of take-home exams; I think one corner of my desk became the designated "sit and stare at paper until it writes itself" spot. What are you TAing for?

Oh, and hi. We have a few mutual friends. So pardon the randomness.

Which is probably inherent anyway.
