god damn

That was one mother F******ING hellacious week. You know in those old movies when indiana jones is trying to slide under the door before it closes, and by any stretch of the imagination there's no way he's going to make it, but every time he looks up he's got a little bit longer till he's buried alive? But then somehow he ends up sliding under a split second before it smashes into the ground? That's kind of what trying to get everything done this week was like. Turned in my midterm today, which was the last thing I had to do. (Until tomorrow, of course, when I have to start on last week's quantum homework that's due on monday! but I won't worry about that yet.) Anyway, I'm sure I aced it like all the tests I've had so far. But I didn't even think I was going to have any time left over to work on it! And my brain was already past the point of fried. Speaking of which, I learned that there is a such thing as a "physics hangover"... I get headaches in the morning, sometimes mild, other times splitting. Last quarter I was getting them about twice a week for a while. This quarter has been much better, but early on this week I got probably the worst one I've had so far: it was so bad I could barely even stand up, and it lasted all the way till just past lunchtime. For some reason they only come in the morning, after long uninterrupted hours of intense focus the night/day/days/week before. Alright, I'll stop rambling and relax. Done for now!

Mmmm... now you've got me wanting to listen to Leonard Cohen. Do bring that CD when you visit, okay?

Massages might help with the headaches, if you have someone willing to give them. Also, make sure you're using enough light when you're reading, look up and focus on something far away periodically, etc, etc.

I'm proud of you! You are *so* kicking ass!

Sure :) I have a Leonard Cohen compilation CD, plus 2 of his older CD's that I'm borrowing, plus about 50 of his mp3s. I listen to him almost daily, I just adore everything he's done. (Never did finish reading his book, though).

Thanks for the suggestions. I'd be surprised if poor lighting was the only reason, but yes.. I do have very poor lighting in my room, I've been meaning to fix that.

blush... thanks. :) Hopefully I can hang in there till the end of the quarter, and then recharge.
