I missed the first half hour of my section this morning because I made the wrong time active on my alarm clock the night before (6:30a is SUPPOSED to be Tues/Thurs, and 8:00a is SUPPOSED to be MWF, unfortunately my clock has the convenience of two programmable settings but uses only the position of a single dot to tell which is which!) Threw on some clothes and raced to the school as fast as I could. For better or for worse, I'm afraid I'm becoming more and more like pbrane every day (and not just for missing TA sections): I went in with 3 guys on a Diplomacy board a couple weeks ago, and it finally arrived so we played our first game on Friday. Well, it's still technically in progress. I'm winning, but we are taking forever to make our moves because we haven't played it before. Very interesting game though.

The whole thing this morning didn't turn out too bad, actually. I was horrified when I first woke up. But despite being 90 minutes late waking, I managed to pull off a miracle and get there 35 minutes after I awoke (and the class started). And just as miraculously, most of the students were still there and not all that upset. I don't even think they'll mention it to the professor. But maybe I should be kind on the quiz grading this week just to make sure, eh? The worst part is, I almost missed the first part of my evening section too because I got wrapped up in listening to a speaker who went a half-hour over his allotted time. Thank goodness I checked my watch at the last possible minute and then happened to catch the bus immediately. I really need to start being less absent-minded.

Awesome! I'll probably be trying to move right around that time, but I'd love to meet you and hang out, one way or another, if you're in town. I could organize a game of diplomacy for when you're here, but it wouldn't be so much of a game as a slaughter. :) We're still trying to learn the rules; no time limits imposed yet and we still have to look up stuff in the manual every now and then if we get into anything beyond the simplest situations.
